The IEC 60870 standard defines the telecontrol protocols used for data exchange between control systems (SCADA) and field equipment such as RTUs (Remote Terminal Units) and IEDs (Intelligent Electronic Devices). It covers serial communication (IEC 60870-5-101) and IP communication (IEC 60870-5-104), allowing for flexible integration depending on the infrastructure.
